Philip Attwater joined Dennis and Dennis’s son John, after the retirement of Ross Knight in 1975. With the retirement of Dennis, in 1982, the company was taken over by grinders John Warner and Philip Attwater.
With the changes in the engineering industry, it was decided to concentrate more on the aerospace side of engineering, which was growing successfully throughout the 1980’s. A move from the jewellery Quarter, to its present site in Avenue Road was made in 1988.
When John decided he no longer wanted to continue in his fathers company, Phil took over and kept Denner trading for 2 years until Gary Green joined him in 1998.
Kelford Grinding firm was aquired in 2001, and the name was changed to Denner-Kelford Grinding.
In 2004 Mark Philips joined the company and became a director in 2006. He added enthusiasm and new skills to the company.
Denner continued to grow as the industry flourished and had a good reputation in the Birmingham area for quality, completing work on time and sensible pricing.
